Belarusian Belavia suspends flights to Tbilisi, Batumi

The Belarusian national air carrier Belavia has suspended flights to Tbilisi and Batumi due to the temporary termination of the international air traffic in several countries because of coronavirus, BelTA learned from Belavia.

The flights В2 735-736 to Tbilisi have been suspended from 22 to 28 March and the flights В2 741-742 from 20 to 28 March.

The flights B2 737 to Batumi will not be available from 20 to 28 March and the flights B2 738 from 21 to 29 March.

Due to the ever-changing situation the national air carrier asks to check the updates on the the Belavia website.

A refund or change of departure date for canceled flights can be made until 31 December 2020. “Passengers can contact ticket offices, airline offices and the support service on this issue at any time till the end of 2020. There is no need to do it right now, all your ticket information is stored in our system. You can contact us after the expected date of flight, giving your ticket number. Passengers have an opportunity to reschedule the flight date only one time. They have a few months to think about when they want to fly on this ticket next time,” Belavia said.

Mobile sensors of speed control will be installed on the roads of Minsk Oblast

From March 19 to April 12, mobile speed sensors will be installed at:

highway M-4 Minsk-Mogilev (measurement direction to Mogilev), 28 km 630 m, speed limit for all types of vehicles - 90 km/h;

highway R-43 border of the Russian Federation-Krichev-Bobruisk-Ivatsevichi, (village Tucha, Kletsk region) 418 km 900 m, speed limit for all types of vehicles - 60 km/h;

highway R-23 Minsk-Mikashevichi, 58 km 600 m, speed limit for cars - 100 km/h, freight - 70 km/h, buses and motorcycles - 90 km/h.

As noted in the Road Police of Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, the goal of installing mobile speed sensors is to prevent drivers from breaking the set speed in places where traffic accidents are concentrated.

And already after monitoring the operation of the above technical equipment, an assessment of the effectiveness of the measures taken will be given and a decision will be made on the need for further prevention.

HC Dinamo Minsk among most-attended clubs in Europe

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has summed up the attendance results for the European ice hockey championships in the 2019-2020 season. HC Dinamo Minsk (KHL) made it into the list of the most-attended clubs, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian club placed sixth with the average attendance of 10,666 fans.

The best-visited European club remained SC Bern from Switzerland. In average 16,237 spectators came to the arena in the Swiss capital. SKA St. Petersburg placed second with 13,594 fans. Germany's Kolner Haie moved up to third place with 13,333 fans at the expense of Eisbaren Berlin with 12,901 while another German team, Adler Mannheim with 11,891 fans, completed the Top Five.

The Great Stone Industrial Park may be of interest to Turkish business

On March 6, the Great Stone Sino-Belarusian Industrial Park, which is located in Smolevichi region, was visited by Mustafa Ozjan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Belarus, the press service of the park said.

The head of the diplomatic mission got acquainted with the history and development of the project. He was also interested in logistics opportunities and infrastructure construction.

The guest also visited the One Station Integrated Service Center. During the talks, Mustafa Ozjan noted that such a site as an industrial park, due to the conditions created for doing business here, may be of interest to Turkish companies.

In turn, the head of the diplomatic mission invited the leadership of the park to present the investment opportunities of the Great Stone at the joint forum of Belarus and Turkey, which will be held in autumn in Istanbul.

Belavia to suspend flights to Kishinev, Riga

The Belavia national air carrier will suspend flights to Kishinev and Riga over coronavirus, BelTA learned from the website of the air carrier.

Flights to Kishinev will be suspended from 17 to 31 March; flights to Riga will not be available from 17 March to 14 April.

In view of the fast-evolving situation, Belavia asks customers to follow updates on the website of the company.

Customers who purchased tickets for these dates will be able to get a refund or reschedule their flights till 31 December 2020.

“Customers will be able to do it at the company's sales offices anytime till the end of 2020. There is no need to do it right away, as all the details of the tickets are kept by the company. Therefore, customers will be able to get a refund or reschedule the flight even after the date of the flight. The company just needs a ticket number. Dates of flights can be changed only once. Therefore, customers have several months to think of a new date on their route,” the airline informed.

Residents of Minsk Oblast can take part in the republican action "Forest Week"

From March 28 to April 4, the republican voluntary action “Forest Week” will be held for the thirteenth time in Minsk Oblast, the press service of the Ministry of Forestry reports.

The action will be dedicated to the Year of the Small Motherland and is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. And its main goal is to attract public attention to the need for careful attitude to the forest.

During this event, participants will be engaged in forest planting, cleanliness in forests and restoration of places of mass recreation.

Anyone can join the "Forest Week". To do this, contact the nearest leshoz or forestry. Forestry institutions will provide all the necessary equipment and planting material, and will also show objects in need of restoration.

In large cities of Minsk Oblast, buses will be replaced by electric buses

In large cities of the region, they plan to replace buses with an internal combustion engine with electric buses.

In total, 110 environmentally friendly cars must be purchased: Soligorsk - 40, Molodechno - 20, Borisov - 20, Slutsk - 15, Zhodino - 15.

Moreover, the regions need an electric bus with a range of at least 250 km on a single charge.

The project is implemented by Minoblavtotrans OJSC together with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. And so that the movement on such a public electric transport was even more convenient, a separate lane can be allocated on the M3 highway, at the end of the reconstruction.

Minsk to host Day of Chile on 31 March

The seminar “The day of Chile in Belarus” will be held in Minsk on 31 March, BelTA has learned from the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Chile's delegation will consist of the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the trade representation of Chile and also executives of large enterprises producing cheese, vine, seafood, nuts and dried fruit, fresh fruit and vegetables.

The Chilean delegation will lay out the prospects of trade and economic cooperation with the countries of Latin America to the Belarusian business community and tell about the best export promotion practices in Chile. The negotiations between the participants of the seminar will be conducted.

The event is held by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the trade representation at the Chile Embassy in Russia.

The development of satellite cities of the capital goes to a new level

A new house for 192 apartments for residents of the capital is already being built in Smolevichi. They plan to hand it over in the summer.

The infrastructure is developing in this city. The first shopping center is already ready for operation. The issue of clinics, kindergartens and schools is being addressed. Also, from the Mound of Glory towards Smolevichy, there is a reconstruction of the first section of the R-53 highway. Note, the road from Minsk through Smolevichy, Zhodino to Borisov will be made concrete and four-lane.

In addition, the leadership of Minsk Oblast offers the city of Minsk to develop a plot in Rudensk with an area of 73 hectares.

Minsk to hold national forum on local history on 12-13 March

The Belarusian National History Museum will host the national forum on local history on 12-13 March. The event is timed to the Year of Native Land, BelTA learned from the museum.

The forum will bring together about 230 participants: local historians, workers of cultural, educational, science and information institutions, university students, students of general and vocational schools, further education students and representatives of public organizations. The forum aims to review the state of affairs in this science, to promote historical, cultural and natural heritage of Belarusian cities and villages, to raise awareness of local history projects in Belarus, to create conditions for dialogue between local historians and to popularize the national tangible and spiritual heritage among young people.

The results of the contest for the best local history publication for 2017-2019 will be summed up during the forum. More than 200 books are participating in it. The program will feature the presentation of most interesting projects, and an exhibition of local history literature from the National Library and publications of local historians.

The forum is organized by the Belarusian National History Museum, the Belarusian Cultural Foundation with the support of the Culture Ministry and the Information Ministry of Belarus. The partners of the forum are the National Library, the Belarusian Writers Union and the Zvyazda Publishing House.
