The export geography of Minsk enterprises continues to expand, at present goods are exported to 119 countries, chairman of the economy committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Naumovich told journalists today, BelTA has learned.
"This year we have restored several export markets. And today Minsk carries out foreign trade in goods from 171 countries of the world, exports to 119 countries. Supplies to the Netherlands increased (2.5 times), Afghanistan (7.2 times) , China (3 times). Deliveries to such exotic destinations as Chad, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Paraguay, Yemen, Bahrain, Senegal, Ghana have been resumed, ”said Vladimir Naumovich.
Commenting on the negative balance of foreign trade in goods, the head of the economy committee noted that there are major importers in Minsk who sell products throughout the country. These are large networkers of electrical engineering, computer equipment, gadgets and other expensive goods, importers of the light industry system. That is why the increase in export enterprises goes in parallel with the task of diversification. After all, competition in foreign markets is growing.
At the same time, the export of services is actively developing - here Minsk has a surplus. “Such a section as computer services occupies a significant share in the city’s GRP - 16.4%. And at the beginning of the year it was 13.2%,” added Vladimir Naumovich.
