Belarus conducts survey to determine economy's need for personnel until 2030

08.04.2025

A survey is being conducted in Belarus to determine the economy’s need for personnel until 2030. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

The department said that the survey will last from April 7 to June 16, 2025. Its results will help the state plan the training of personnel in universities and colleges, businesses — to understand what specialists to look for now, and job seekers — to choose promising professions.

Employers can take part in the survey. To do this, they need to log in to their employer’s personal account (via EDS), go to the «Survey» section and fill out the questionnaire before June 16, 2025. The Ministry of Labor emphasized that the more organizations participate, the more accurate the forecast will be.

According to the current survey, the bulk of demand will be made up of skilled workers with secondary specialized and vocational education — they form the backbone of the real sector of the economy, ensuring the stable operation of industry. Almost a third are specialists with higher and secondary specialized education, who ensure technological development and management processes. There will also be a need for unskilled workers for certain industries, where their labor continues to be in demand. These data clearly illustrate that skilled workers — the same «blue collars» — still form the basis of the country’s production potential.

The Ministry of Labor is confident that this trend will continue in the coming years, which requires special attention to the development of the system of vocational and technical education and secondary specialized education, as well as increasing the prestige of blue-collar jobs among young people.

Thus, the top 5 most in-demand professions are: truck drivers, machine operators and adjusters, agricultural machinery operators, nurses, fitters and mechanics. The greatest need for personnel is observed in the manufacturing industry. Skilled workers are also needed for mechanical engineering, electronics and construction.
