The strategy for the development of housing and communal services in the Republic of Belarus until 2035 has been approved. This was reported to BELTA by the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services.
The priority areas of the strategy are technical and technological modernization, financial stability of the housing and communal services sector, improving the comfort of living for citizens, digital transformation of the housing and communal services industry, and others.
The implementation of the strategy will improve the quality of housing and communal services provided and their availability, including through optimization of costs for their provision. Thanks to the strategy, it is also planned to improve the mechanism for planning current activities and increase the economic efficiency of housing and communal services organizations, create a single information space for housing and communal services, and improve the professional level of personnel. It is planned to improve the technical and consumer qualities of the housing stock, reduce the housing stock unsuitable for habitation, completely get rid of old elevators and improve the performance characteristics of elements of the street and road network.
To achieve these objectives, it is planned to ensure the annual commissioning of at least 2.8 million square meters of total area of residential buildings after major repairs in 2026-2030 and 2 million square meters in 2030-2035. By 2035, it is planned to replace about 5 thousand elevators, repair more than 85 bridge structures. It is planned to repair at least 2% of the adjacent territories of apartment buildings, 3.4% of the street and road network, and at least 15% of excess heating networks annually. In addition, it is planned to achieve a level of MSW use at 90% by the end of 2035.
The strategy is based on an integrated approach that takes into account both modern challenges and prospects. «It is important that all initiatives are aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens, ensuring environmental sustainability and increasing economic efficiency. Only in this case can we expect significant changes in the housing and utilities sector that will contribute to the creation of a comfortable and safe environment for future generations,» says the text of the strategy, posted on the website of the Ministry of Housing and Utilities.
