 In recognition of great achievements in public activities, significant personal contribution to the development of the movement of veteran peacekeeping soldiers, the President of Belarus has awarded state decorations to the chairpersons of the regional organizations of the public association "Belarusian Union of Afghan war veterans", BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state. Alexander Lukashenko signed a corresponding decree on 4 February.The Order of Honor was conferred on chairman of the Grodno regional organization of this public association Alexander Vitko, and chairman of the Brest city organization Sergei Pukhalsky.The medal "For Labor Merit" was presented to chairman of the Borisov city organization Vasily Barannik, chairman of the Bobruisk city organization Valery Lebedenko, chairman of the Ivie district organization Stepan Stanilko, and also chairman of the public association “Association of Afghan war disabled veterans.Chairman of Gorodok district organization Viktor Kamyshev and chairman of the Zhlobin city organization Sergei Savchenko have been officially thanked by the President in recognition of their significant personal contribution to the establishment and strengthening of veterans' organizations, and active role in the military and patriotic education of youth and social protection of veterans.
