Belarus plans to sign an agreement on media and information cooperation with Cuba, Information Minister of Belarus Lilia Ananich said as she met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Belarus Gerardo Suarez Alvarez, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Information Ministry.
Lilia Ananich informed the Cuban party on the development of the press and information sector of Belarus and stressed the importance of information cooperation for the bilateral relations. The minister emphasized the significance of the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in press and information. The Cuban representative received the relevant note and the draft document.
The parties discussed the matters related to the participation of mass media outlets and publishing organizations of Cuba in the Minsk international book fair, the Belarusian international media forum, Partnership for the Future.
Gerardo Suarez Alvarez confirmed Cuba's readiness to intensify cooperation with an aim at the objective covering of the developments in the two countries.
