There are prospects of simplifying visa regulations between Belarus and the European Union. Belgian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs Didier Reynders made the statement after negotiations with Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei on 15 March, BelTA has learned.
Didier Reynders said: “It is vital to demonstrate new positive steps in the sphere of supremacy of law in Belarus in order to continue the dialogue. It can lead to further positive movement in the advancement of our relations in such matters as the facilitation of visa rules.”
Didier Reynders welcomed Belarus' increasingly important role at the regional and international levels. “We are glad to see that a large number of multilateral discussions about regional affairs has been arranged in Belarus. Negotiations on the Minsk agreements are some of them. We understand that their organization entails certain difficulties,” said the official. “We also welcome Belarus' growing role in the Eastern Partnership Initiative.”
