In January-July 2008 investments in fixed capital and construction in the Minsk oblast totalled Br2,819.6 billion, 23.5% up on the same period of last year, the Minsk Oblast Statistics Agency told BelTA.
Over the seven months of the year construction and installation works amounted to Br1,245.4 billion, 24.2% up on the same period of last year in comparable prices. Investments in buying new machines, equipment, vehicles equalled Br1,165.4 billion, 25.1% up on January-July 2007.
The oblast spent Br544.4 billion on building housing and social and cultural facilities, 10.6% up on the year. In January-July the oblast commissioned 587,800 square metres of housing, 62.5% of the annual target.
This year plans have been made to build 1,510 one-apartment homes in agricultural companies of the oblast, with 815 homes built over the seven months.
According to the source, in January–July people on the housing register received 3,404 apartments with the total area of 264,800 square metres, 45% of the total housing commissioned in the oblast.
