The gross grain harvest in the Minsk oblast has exceeded 1.6 million tonnes, BelTA was told in the agriculture and food department of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
As of early August 15 the oblast harvested 443,000 hectares, or 74% of the cropping areas.
The harvest campaign leaders are the Staryie Dorogi, Kletsk and Liuban regions that harvested 90%, 80 and 84% of the areas under grain crops respectively. The Stolbtsy, Uzda, Nesvizh and Pukhovichi regions cropped around 80-84% of the areas. Twelve agricultural companies have completed the grain harvest.
The Slutsk region is a gross harvest leader with 134,300 tonnes. The Kopyl region has harvested 128,500 tonnes, Nesvizh 126,300 tonnes. The Minsk region gathered in 107,800 tonnes. The Kletsk and Soligorsk regions reaped 93,100 tonnes and 90,300 tonnes respectively. The companies of the oblast have been set the task to finish the harvest campaign by August 25. The Minsk oblast has fulfilled the government grain procurement order by 59% by supplying 132,900 tonnes
