MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) – Minsk Oblast operates 156 water recreation facilities, BelTA learned from Larisa Voronova, deputy head of the state control department for the protection of air, water and wastes handling of the Minsk Oblast Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Committee. Minsk Oblast has taken all necessary measures to beautify territories, namely there are garbage containers, drinking water fountains, car barriers, over 180 portable toilets, more than 100 car parks, information stands. Larisa Voronova noted that representatives of environmental protection agencies and policemen gave 222 orders to eliminate violations. Major violations are illegal entry, parking, car wash, etc. Larisa Voronova said that offenders will have to pay from ten to 1,000 basic amounts in fines. “Unfortunately, despite existing recreation facilities and garbage containers people continue littering. Thus It is essential to promote ecological culture,” Larisa Voronova said. Minsk Oblast is the second richest region of the country in the number of rivers and lakes.
